What is Life Insurance?
Before we get to life insurance quotes, let's talk about life insurance itself. Life insurance is a simple concept. You pay a life insurance company a certain amount of money each month, and when you die your beneficiaries get a lump sum. There are some variations of this, for example some life insurance policies will also pay out money if you are injured or disabled, or if you are diagnosed with some kinds of diseases.
Why Do I need to get Life Insurance Quotes?
Getting life insurance quotes might not be at the top of your to-do list, but it should be. Unfortunately, life insurance is one of those things that many people don't like thinking about, and we get that, but it really is incredibly important for both you and your family. And getting life insurance the right way means getting at least 3 or 4 life insurance quotes. In the following post we will take a look at why life insurance is so important, and why getting life insurance quotes are an essential part of the shopping process, as well as why you should shop online.
Why Life Insurance is Important
There's no denying the fact that we don't like considering our own mortality, which is one of the reasons that shopping for a life policy is something that many of us put off. However, if something should happen to you, then would your family be financially secure? Life insurance is about ensuring that in the worst case scenario your partner and children will have money. Money for school, groceries, mortgage payments etc. And whilst getting a life policy isn't required by law (like car insurance is, for example), it is definitely recommended. Also, a life insurance policy doesn't have to cost you a fortune. There are budget life insurance options, as well as more expensive choices that have larger payouts but higher premiums.
Okay, you’ve persuaded me. How should I go about getting life insurance?
The 3 Main Ways to Get Life Insurance
There are three ways that you can take out life insurance:
-
Directly from Insurance Companies: many, although not all, insurance companies will directly sell you a life policy, however buying direct can intimidate people, since insurance companies have a tendency to use lots of technical life insurance terms and definitions, making the shopping process confusing for some;
-
Through an Insurance Broker: these are specialists who work with many insurance companies and will advise you which policy is best for you, but you will need to pay a premium for this service, making it a costly method of finding a policy;
-
Getting Online Life Insurance Quotes: this method will let you get plenty of information that you can read in your own time, and will provide you with lots of different quotes that you can compare, and it's free too.
Why Get at least 3 or 4 Life Insurance Quotes? (and Why Online?!)
Different insurance companies offer different prices and the simple fact is that by getting a few different life insurance quotes you'll be able to compare between them and be able to see which company offers you the best life policy for the best price. And in the end, this is going to save you money.
But why go online to get those quotes? Again, it's a question of money, and time. If you sit and call insurance companies or brokers you're going to be spending a lot of time making calls, setting up meetings and talking to people (tens of hours as a matter of fact). We're all busy people, so why spend the time? Plus, you might be paying for those services too (especially with a broker). Online, on the other hand, you're clicking a button and being sent the information you need or having the insurance agent contact you. It's free and takes seconds.

3. Fill in the form here below or on the top right of the home page. Once you do so you will get 3-4 calls from insurance agents offering you a few quotes with all the information you need. Don’t be shy to ask them to explain things if you are unclear about anything.
It really is that simple. But remember, once you get the quotes, make that needed step and get insurance, especially if you have people depending on you.
Why the Online Life Insurance Quotes Trend is Great News
Take a look at all the ways this trend is influencing the insurance market in general:
Lowering Insurance Prices: Quoting and even selling online means that companies save on overhead costs (like rent for an office, for example), in turn that means that companies can lower premium prices. Because of this, there is more competition, so traditional companies are then forced to lower their prices too. In terms of saving money, shopping online has had a big impact on the prices of insurance policies.
Reviews of Insurance Companies: You're not only accessing life insurance quotes when you're shopping online, you're also getting information about the companies themselves. And with so much info available to potential customers, from current customer complaints to customer service awards and more, online shopping is affecting the way that companies behave. As a consumer you have more information so you can make a better decision, and insurance companies are having to clean up their act when it comes to good customer service because online complaints seriously effect business.
Transparency: Better informed customers mean that insurance companies are becoming more transparent in their quality and their pricing.
More Insured: Finally, with the ease of getting life insurance quotes online and even buying a life policy online more and more people are getting insured. Getting a life policy no longer needs to be a lengthy and complicated process, prices are coming down, and more customers are taking this important step – which is good news for families that might need financial support in the future.

Hi
Most companies seem to set their max entry age for life insurance between 65 and 70yrs.
Both my parents are pensioners since age 65 but do not have much by way of life cover. They are aged 72 and 74 respectively. Is there no way of getting some form of life cover for them?
Please advise
